Many AED networks in the Netherlands are ‘supported’ by volunteers. This is also the case in the (merged) municipality of Maashorst in North Brabant. The Uden Hartveilig Foundation* is committed to the optimal distribution of well-functioning AEDs and to training as many people as possible to be able to perform CPR. Great work!

One of those volunteers is François Watervoort: “From the foundation, we want to ensure that an operational AED is available everywhere in the municipality within the critical limit of 6 minutes. Maintenance plays a crucial role in this. All AEDs, both indoors and outdoors, must be checked regularly. This is a significant challenge, as we have very few volunteers.

When our regular supplier of AEDs recently passed away, we were forced to look for a new party. But who? I knew one of our volunteers worked at AED-Partner, so I gave him a call. Coincidentally, he was looking for a fire instructor to give a BHV (Business Emergency Response) lesson. I'm happy to help, so it was as good as done.

Na de les liep ik toevallig twee medewerkers van AED-Partner tegen het lijf. Dat heeft zo moeten zijn: toen ze mijn verhaal hoorden, boden ze direct aan om de stichting te helpen. Geweldig! AED-Partner heeft geheel kosteloos de AED’s gecontroleerd en daar waar nodig onderdelen gratis vervangen. Een gebaar dat ontzettend positief door de stichting is ontvangen. We hebben onze AED-Partner gevonden. We kijken uit naar een lange samenwerking!”

In connection with the merger of (former) municipalities Uden and Landerd into the municipality of Maashorst, the foundation will soon have a new name: Stichting Maashorst Hartveilig.
