Support with spoken instructions and a metronome

In an emergency, you can easily activate this AED by pulling the handle on the outside of the device. A flashing green light then indicates that the AED is ready for use. Spoken instructions support the responder during resuscitation and when using the AED. The HeartStart HS1 AED also has a practical metronome function: audible signals indicate the correct chest compression rate.

Semi-automatic

This AED is semi-automatic. This means that when the AED detects a shockable rhythm, the responder must press the shock button.

Reliable thanks to automatic self-tests

This defibrillator is FDA certified. This means that the HeartStart HS1 meets the strictest requirements in the medical market. To ensure that this AED is ready for use in an emergency, it performs the following self-tests as standard:

1. Electrode presence self-test (daily)
2. Electrode functionality self-test (daily)
3. Capacitor frequency self-test (monthly)
4. Battery capacity self-test (daily)

Suitable for dry and dust-free areas

This semi-automatic AED is suitable for installation in dry, dust-free areas, such as indoors or in office buildings.

Battery and electrodes

This AED is supplied ready for use with the Philips HeartStart HS1 battery. This battery has an expected service life of 4 years. The AED is also supplied with Philips HeartStart HS1 electrodes. These electrodes are packaged in a plastic cartridge, which keeps them well protected until they are needed.

To use this AED on children weighing up to 25 kg or under 8 years of age, separate paediatric electrodes for the HeartStart must be ordered. The HeartStart paediatric electrodes are also packaged in a protective plastic cartridge.

We will notify you when the battery and/or electrodes of your AED(s) need to be replaced. After the AED has been used, we will also be on site within 6 hours to perform maintenance.
