Nico Boerman is Manager Security and First Aid at Technische Unie:
“We have a total of approximately 50 AEDs, distributed across various branches and pick-up points. We handle the maintenance of these AEDs ourselves: we have been replacing the batteries and electrodes in-house for 17 years. However, this year we reached a point where a large portion of those AEDs had reached their maximum age: they were truly due for replacement. Even outside the workplace, Technische Unie is involved with AEDs. Every year, the company participates in the Roparun: an relay race from Paris to Rotterdam. The goal: to raise money for palliative care for people with cancer. An adventure for life, therefore.
