The Sint-Gummaruscollege in Lier is a vibrant secondary school attended by approximately 1250 students daily. A large community, therefore, and safety is logically a high priority.

“We are responsible for all students during school hours. Then you want to be sure that you can intervene if something goes seriously wrong.” Jana de Boer, one of the Dutch/French/Human & Society teachers, explains. Together with two colleagues, she also manages the school's social media.

Not only students, but also the many athletes who use the sports hall outside of school hours, need to be able to exercise safely. That made the choice for an AED a logical step.
